Continuing with sports fashion I decided to move away from backdrops that where clean which lead to the main focus being on the product
I wanted to make the model and background to harmonise and become more fluid, something that is traditionally seen in Vogue where the background and props are just as influential as the clothes the model is wearing.

Just an update on the current work I’m doing.
I’m creating a portfolio of sports fashion. After doing some initial research into the market the sport fashion world seems to be heavily spilt into lifestyle shots and hyper-surrealism.
My idea was to basically mesh those two elements together. So a traditional environmental portrayal with intense bursts of light.
These are the first three images that are going towards my portfolio.

Since the weather has been uncooperative and won’t let me see the stars for more than 5 minutes. I decided to follow a fashion idea I have had for sometime.
I love the outcome and my flatmate had the chance to have a warm bath

I went on a gunshot with my father and Uncle upon the Yorkshire Moors, I specifically wanted to photograph observed portraits.
Heres a few observed portraits that I will hopefully be able to put towards my ten part portfolio
I wanted to keep pushing myself with this lit portrait. So I decided to move the lit portrait out of the comfort of the studio and use environmental backgrounds.
Need to work on the colours of this photograph but Im happy with the detail of this image.
Part of the ten part portfolio was to create a group portrait of 5 or more people.
For this element I decided to take my family and light them with a flash gun on a stand slightly to my right.
Since I come from a family of gunmen, I thought It would be apt to photograph my members of my family in their traditional Yorkshire tweed.
This photograph isn’t my final one, I decided to use a square crop on a closer image but I love the moment in this image.
So I thought that these images could be used for my lit portrait part however after talking to my tutor today because of the focus and definition of these shots they would work better for fashion head shots.
Im going to explore a lit shot that isn’t studio based, expanding into the realms of environmental portrait.
However I’m still going to try and shoot a full length fashion shoot when I’m back home in Yorkshire.
I still cant decide between black and white or colour, so I’ll leave them sat together, so I don’t have to make a decision.
I know this isn’t perfect but its a start.
This was in Bodmin last night, it was a pretty dry and clear night ( Ive been waiting for a night like this for well over a month) looked to be a new moon as well so there was no natural light pollution coming from the moon. Unfortunately there was light pollution coming from a few cars so thats why there is a light patch on the horizon.
It started of difficult as my shutter release device broke on me, so for an hour and twenty minutes I pressed the shutter every thirty seconds, so thats why the trail isnt completely straight!
At the end I started to fill in the tree’s with a speed-light with a green filter to pick up the foreground.
I’m going back tonight to try again and hopefully get a better horizon as I’m not too happy with the composition of this photo, (added element of it being pitch black makes impossible to see what your doing)
Im so miffed I missed the north star, its my aim tonight to get the north star in my photograph.
Working on a previous shoot I have done with Sally, I wanted to develop further into the field of fashion head shots. I Started with a similar look nude and natural look like last time to switching it up with a heavy aqua grunge makeup.
Will be uploading colour ones soon I just want to make some adjustments but here is a quick black and white edit for you lovely people.
Pure Underwater Rugby Club is the first UK Underwater Rugby club started on 19th September 2013.
It is played under water in a swimming pool of 3.5m to 5m.
Goals (Heavy metal buckets) are placed either side of the pool. Tow teams made up of 6 players try score by sending a negatively buoyant ball (Filled with salt water) into the opponents goal.
To protect the goal a member of the team, sits onto of the buckets and frantically thrash about to make it difficult to score a goal.
